The Compulsory Basic Training course is your first step to riding either a moped or motorcycle.
Direct Access (DAS)/Restricted A1/A2 Licence
Restricted A1 Licence
Available to ages 17 and over, this test is undertaken on a machine of between 75cc and 120cc, not exceeding 11kW (14.6bhp), which then entitles a rider to ride a machine within these specifications.
Restricted A2 Licence
Available to ages 17 and over, this test is undertaken on a machine of between 120cc and 125cc, which then entitles a rider to ride any size of machine with a 25kW (33bhp) power restriction for a period of 2 years.
Direct Access
Available to ages 21 and over, this test is undertaken on a machine exceeding a 33kW (46.6bhp) power output, which then entitles a rider to ride any size of machine with no power restriction.
